With an increasing interest in Chinese language learning at Queen’s and more international students from Chinese-speaking backgrounds, we see a great need and advantage to support the development of the student-led Chinese Language Interest Group (LIG), a learning community that aims to enhance a better understanding of Chinese culture through learning its language, with activities taking place throughout the academic year.

Objectives

Through participating in the Chinese-LIG events, it is hope that members will be able to 

• Get to know about Chinese language and knowledge
• Learn about Chinese culture from personal and social perspectives
• Practise Chinese language with peer support in real-life contexts
• Share resources and create materials for learning Chinese
