The Year of Mouse has not been a year that any of us will forget in a hurry. As the Chinese saying becoming viral in social media these days goes, the Year of the Mouse was far from easy, yet the Year of the Ox will turn things around (2020实‘鼠’不易,2021‘牛’转乾坤). So, a very big Happy Niu (New) Year to you all!
We welcome the Year of the Ox and consider the themes of remembrance and resilience. We are all feeling distanced from loved ones at this time and our resilience is being tested by the continued disruption to both our routines, as well as our engagement with our passions, environments and fellow humans. Chinese New Year is a time that we choose to celebrate cultural diversity in what is, fortunately for us at Queen’s, a distinctly multi-cultural university campus.

Very much so, we look forward turning to the positive trend following the arrival of Ox, and best wishes to you, Haiying, for your PhD study in London.
