An Introductory Workshop

Speaker / Performer:
DENG Wei is a QUB graduate in Arts Management and she is also a professional player of guzheng (古筝), which is a type of string music instrument that has a long history in China. Wei is keen to host a series of workshops to invite like-minded people, local and international living in Northern Ireland, to exchanging ideas on and appreciate guzheng music through intercultural dialogues.

Outline:
This introductory workshop will run a brief culture talk on guzheng relating to its history and techniques. It will also include demonstration of playing some pieces of music with explanation, and some performances to entertain the audience.

A plan of follow-up sessions will be negotiated and published in due course.
