Welcome to our blog

The Modern Languages Core Disciplinary Research Group (CDRG) in the School of Arts, English and Languages at Queen’s University Belfast comprises a community of over 100 colleagues made up of academic staff, post-doctoral fellows, and postgraduate research and Master of Research (MRes) students. Research across the sub-disciplines of French, Irish, Spanish, and Portuguese, and the Centre for Translation and Interpreting (CTI), embraces literature, linguistics, translation, visual culture, digital cultures, socio-historical and practice-led research encompassing a range of theoretical perspectives with significant temporal breadth (from the Middle Ages to the present). Our vision for Modern Languages research is global and our investigations span Europe, the Americas, the Caribbean, Africa, China and the Middle East.
