McClay Library: Easter Hours, May Day and, 24-Hour Opening

Easter

During Easter the McClay Library will offer exceptional opening on a couple of dates. On Good Friday (14 April) and, on Easter Tuesday (18 April), all four floors of the Library will be open for study access from 9 o’clock in the morning until 9 o’clock in the evening. Although there will be no staffed services on those two days, it will be possible to borrow and return material using the self-service facilities.

Please note that the University Library will be closed from Easter Saturday until Easter Monday inclusive.

Overnight opening

Twenty-Four Hour Opening commences immediately after Easter on Wednesday 19 April.  This means that the McClay Library will remain open overnight for five nights every week until the end of the exams, from Sunday through to Friday. It also means that the building will open earlier than normal, at 6 o’clock on Saturday mornings and, at 8 o’clock on Sunday mornings.

May Day

The McClay Library will again offer exceptional opening on the May Day public holiday to provide students with study facilities.  It will be open from 9 o’clock in the morning until 9 o’clock in the evening on Monday 1 May. Staffed services will not be available on that date. Please note that the Library will close as 2am on the night before May Day and open at 8am on the morning after May Day.

Summer Vacation

Earlier closing during the summer months begins on Saturday 3 June. The Library will close at 20:30 from Monday to Thursday and, at 17:30 on Fridays and Saturdays. The Library will be closed on Sundays.
