This week the stock in the Main Library is in the process of being transferred to the new library. However, the issue desk will be open as normal and study facilities are still available in the Old Building. This Library will close next Monday, 6 July at 5.30pm for the final time.
The Main Library will be open as normal on Saturday 4th July. Then, for the rest of the month, the Saturday morning service will operate out of the Seamus Heaney Library from 9 o’clock till 12.30pm.
Until such time as the new library opens you will be able to access the material which was held in the Main and Science Libraries using a request service . You will be able to collect this material from the Seamus Heaney Library but please allow a couple of working days as a large amount of stock has already been moved or is in transit. You can check if the item has arrived by phoning the Heaney on 9097 3966.
Study space is also available in the Seamus Heaney Library for all members of the library, including Associates. However, if you wish to consult Special Collections material you should email specialcollections@qub.ac.uk.
The Library Catalogue will be unavailable from Friday 10 July at 5.00 pm until Wednesday 15 July so that it can be configured for the new Library. Electronic resources will be unaffected and these can be accessed from the Electronic Journals A-Z and QSearch.
The Medical, Biomedical and AFBI libraries are open as usual. Only the Main, Science and Seamus Heaney Libraries are moving to the new library at College Park.
