With just a few days to go, it’s the final countdown to new OA requirements for REF eligibility.
From 1 April 2018 onwards, the OA Policy for REF2021 requires the accepted manuscript for all journal articles and published conference papers to be deposited in Pure no later than three months after the date of acceptance (previously three months after the date of publication).
The accepted manuscript is the author’s final draft, after the changes from peer review have been incorporated but before it is sent to the publisher for typesetting. It is not the proof copy or the final published version.
Failure to comply with the policy will result in journal articles and conference papers being given an unclassified score for the REF.
