Dr John Curran

John Curran’s research interests lie chiefly in the history of ancient religions. He has published the results of his research on paganism and Christianity in the city of Rome at the end of antiquity; the Jewish religion under Roman rule; the historical Jesus, and the destruction of Jerusalem in A.D. 70. He is also an historian of Roman law and empire, publishing on the Roman father’s formal legal power (potestas) and the nature of law in the provinces of the empire.
