Cultural Awareness Workshops supported by The Language Centre at Queen’s

QUB aspires to support all staff and students to develop a ‘global mindset,’ both to make the most of our multicultural campus, as well as supporting students to make the most of international opportunities whilst studying at Queen’s and in their future careers

What does it mean to be a ‘global citizen’?  What does it mean to be ‘globally minded’?

Our cultural awareness is fundamental to our ability to adopt and embody a global mind-set.

Cultural awareness is an increasingly essential competence in the modern workplace.

  • How do we become ‘culturally aware’?
  • How do we evidence our cultural competence to potential employers at interview?
  • And, more generally speaking, how do we talk to others about culture?

This interactive workshop will reflect on the concept of culture, bias, culture shock and how we can communicate more effectively across linguistic and cultural barriers.

This workshop will be offered on Tuesday 31st May, and you can use the link below to register to attend. The workshop will take place in the Auditorium, on the Ground floor of the McClay Library:-

Tuesday 31st May, 9:30am – 12 noon
