To help you prepare for Semester Two in Canvas, we’ve pulled together just four key resources:

1. Creating your Content in Module Development Area
2. Importing and Publishing
3. Introducing Canvas to ‘new’ students
4. Training and support

1. Creating your Content in Module Development Area

Starting to create content in your Canvas course for the first time can seem daunting but we have a short 30-minute webinar ‘Ready Steady Canvas’ to help you getting started with the basics.
Register below for a ‘Ready Steady Canvas’ webinar, where you will have an opportunity to ask questions to help you get started.

2. Import & Publish

In order for students to view the content you have lovingly created in Canvas you must do two things:

  1. Import the course material from your DEVELOP area into the Academic Module for AY 2019/20.
  2. Make sure that everything you want the students to see is published.

3. Introducing Canvas to ‘new’ students

If you have any students joining Queen’s for the first time, you will want to ensure they are aware of Canvas and how you intend to use.
A number of resources have been provided to support and facilitate effective communication of key messages by teaching staff to students at the start of term. A Canvas Slide Deck (PowerPoint slides) will be the primary resource available for introducing Canvas to students.

4. Training and Support

A full programme of training is available all year around to help you to develop and enhance your academic modules in Canvas. Click the links below to view a description of the training and support activities available to all staff over the next few months.

24hr support is available to you for all your Canvas queries, simply click the Help button on the Global Navigation bar within Canvas to contact the Canvas Tier 1 Support Team. This support is available to both Staff and Students 24×7 all year round.
