Getting Started

‘Getting Started with Canvas at Queen’s’ is an online, self-paced introduction to Canvas which consists of 8 lessons.  The aim of the course is to prepare you to effectively and efficiently use Canvas to facilitate learning within your academic course(s), whether they are traditional, blended or fully online.

Connected Learning

‘Connected Learning at Queen’s’ is an online, self-paced Canvas course, designed to support you in the development and delivery of your Canvas course during AY2020/21. The course includes tailored online guidance materials, short how-to type videos supported by a range of virtual training activities to guide you in your Connected Learning Journey.

Small Group Teaching

This self-paced online course is intended for anyone new to teaching, including postgraduate teaching assistants and lab demonstrators. The course will introduce teaching fundamentals when supporting small groups, both face-to-face and online, with particular focus on Universal Design for Learning (UDL), accessibility and inclusive teaching activities.

Accessibility Toolkit

This online course has been designed to inform you about accessibility, advise on how to create accessible content for learner variability, provide examples of good/bad practice, highlight tools which you can use to fix accessibility issues (e.g. Canvas Accessibility Checker, Blackboard Ally) and to signpost to monthly Training & Accessibility Drop-In Clinics.
