How can I stop students creating discussion topics?

How to prevent students creating additional discussion topics

1. Open your Canvas course
2. Click on ‘Discussions’ in the Course navigation.
3. Click on the cog symbol on the top right of the page to access the Discussion settings.
4. Uncheck the option to ‘Create discussion topics’ in the pop-up dialog box.
5. Click ‘Save settings’ button to save your changes.
