BYOD if you fancy working away from your office

Sometimes you just need to get your head down and focus on a paper or project you’re working on without being interrupted for a chat every time someone comes into the office. In that case, bringing your own device and using the library’s docking stations might be the perfect solution.
We have 3 available at AFBI Library Newforge for staff to use. Two are in private computer rooms and one is at the back of the main library study area.

They can be used in single (you can see your laptop screen on the bigger monitor) or dual (you can use the monitor as a second screen) screen mode, to support whichever way you’d prefer to work.

The docking stations in the private computer rooms will also charge your laptop and there’s even a wireless charging point for your phone!
We usually have availability so you can just pop up to the library whenever you need to, but if you want to book any of them for a few hours or maybe for the day – if you’re at Newforge from another site – feel free to email us: afbilib@qub.ac.uk. There are also three docking stations in the library at VSD – contact vetlib@qub.ac.uk for availability there.
