Introducing Scholarcy – For Smarter Reading & Summarising

Scholarcy is now available to QUB students through a new, limited-access model. This means you can try out one of the leading AI-powered summarising tools as part of your studies.

If you ever feel swamped by long reading lists or complex journal articles, Scholarcy helps by breaking down documents into clear, structured summaries.

What Scholarcy Does

  • Summarises long documents – turns full articles or reports into short, clear flashcards.
  • Highlights key concepts – pulls out important findings, stats, and references.
  • Organises your research – export summaries to Word, PDF, or reference managers like Zotero or Mendeley.
  • Supports focus & learning – great for students with reading and processing difficulties, or anyone short on time.

Why Use Scholarcy?

  • Cuts down reading time.
  • Helps you understand tricky research papers.
  • Lets you build a personal library of summaries.
  • Perfect if you’re juggling multiple assignments or struggling to process dense text.

Who can access it?

All students at QUB can request access to Scholarcy through the Assistive Technology Coordinator or by booking in for a short training session here.

Licences are allocated on a short-term basis and may be recalled if not in use. As licences are limited, priority will be given to students who have a disability or long-term condition and areregistered with the Accessible Learning Service and/or DSA.
