FAV MEMORY-
A classic favourite memory has to the the flotilla holiday to Corfu in my second year. A week in the sun, partying and sailing around the Greek islands, you really can’t beat it. Apart from that for me personally I think my favourite event was varsities in Carrick-On-Shannon 2019. That was the first year Queens had our own boats and the training and membership really took off. I think that was the event that really bonded all the members and created the great friendships and team spirit that the club still has today.

The ceilidh at Glasgow grouse. It’s a traditional Scottish dance. It’s on the last night and everyone dresses fancy and learns to dance. Great way to end a fab weekend in Glasgow.😊

Why did you start sailing: I’ve always been near the water, being raised in the Isle of Man and living close to Strangford Lough. Since moving to Ireland when I was 11, I quickly joined my local Sailing club and have been crewing on bigger yachts ever since!

FAV MEMORY-
My funniest (and quite embarrassing) memory is when I first met our wonderful captain. As a fresher I had just floored myself on the Malone road – full wipe-out. I was drunkenly texting my friends I knew from the club that I needed paracetamol because I kid you not those wounds hurt like a bitch. I was just chilling and dabbing the blood away when our very own Caoimhe Lynch appeared into Laverys bathroom, shouting my name, selflessly coming to save a wee girl she didn’t even know. QUB sailing is such a welcoming club, and I promise you will make some amazing friends if you join us.

There’s not one particular memory that I love about QUBSC, but its the community and family that the team brings. I got into sailing because I love being on the water. My parents always say I’m my happiest out there. Whatever’s going on, it’s left on the shore and you see just the open expanse of water out in front of you.
