Here at Queen’s Sailing we sail on 6 a small boats called Fireflys. They’re the most common boats sailed at University level here in the UK and Republic of Ireland.
These boats have two sails, a jib (the little one) and a main sail (the big one)
They do capsize! But don’t worry, Ballyholme yacht club kindly lends beginners wetsuits to keep you warm in the Irish Sea. However if you do get cold easily a good pair of sailing gloves and boots goes a long way.
