HONNI is now linked to Google Scholar

If you’re doing a Google Scholar search, you can now see at a glance if the full text of a particular result in available via HONNI.

If full text is available, a ‘Full Text from HONNI’ link will appear beside the result:

To take advantage of this new feature, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to http://scholar.google.com
  2. Click Settings
  3. Click Library Links
  4. Use the search bar to search for HONNI
  5. HONNI – Full Text from HONNI will appear as an option underneath the search box (other options, e.g. Queen’s University Belfast – QConnect, might already be displayed) – tick the box beside HONNI -Full Text from HONNI

  6. Click Save

You will be returned to the Google Scholar homepage.  Now, when you run a search, ‘Full Text from HONNI’ will appear beside results from HONNI subscribed journals.  Click on this link, log in with your HONNI details when prompted, and a HONNIConnect window will open, containing a link to the full text.

If you are logged in to Google, the above settings should be saved permanently and applied to every computer on which you use Google Scholar.

If you are not logged in to Google, you may have to repeat the above steps on every computer you use, and if, at any stage, you clear your computer of cookies.
