Embedding AI in HE: Innovation, Integration and Impact
Queen’s University Belfast is one of 24 pilot institutions that has worked closely with Jisc over the last year to test, validate and contribute to the development of Jisc’s framework for digital transformation.
On 5 February, 2025 as part of this collaborative work with Jisc, the Queen’s Digital Education team hosted a full-day regional event titled ‘Embedding AI in HE: Innovation, Integration and Impact’, at Riddell Hall.
Led by Professor Phil Hanna the team shared their holistic approach to developing resources to support, enable and encourage the responsible use of AI. This work has been shaped through an extensive consultative process with staff and students, emphasising engagement and collaboration.
The event welcomed over 100 delegates including senior representatives from many UK Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). Discussions focussed on how and when AI could add value, not only within the context of improved learning and teaching experiences, but also in fostering employability skills and increased accessibility and inclusion.
