Background

Supporting assessors to make defensible judgements of student performance is paramount to improve health professions assessment practices in both university setting and clinical practice, and most importantly, to ensure safe and high-quality patient care is provided by our students and graduates. Therefore, it is critical to co-design support resources with and for academic and clinical/practice assessors addressing their professional needs and facilitating interdisciplinary learning of effective assessment practices.

Funding from the Queen’s University Belfast (Economic and Social Research Council – Impact Acceleration Account) and the subsequent Medical Education Developing Scholarship Award by the Association for the Study of Medical Education (ASME) has supported the initiatives of co-designing an assessor support roadmap and its associated resources. You can access these resources on this virtual meeting place.

Apart from that, colleagues from across the health disciplines have also contributed to the repository of the ‘Assessment Resources’. You are most welcome to contact the project lead to contribute your resources to the Community of Practice.
