Assistive Tech Hub

At Queen’s, we know that the right technology can make all the difference in your studies. Whether you need support with reading, writing, organisation, or focus, there are fantastic tools available to help. That’s why we’ve created the Assistive Tech (AT) Hub – a dedicated space where students can find information, guidance, and support on using AT effectively.

What is the AT Hub?

The AT Hub is an online resource designed to help you get the most out of the assistive technology available at Queen’s. It provides:

  • Guides and How-To Articles – Step-by-step instructions on using AT tools like Read&Write, Equatio, and MindView.
  • Software and App Recommendations – A list of the best free and paid apps for study support.
  • Tips for Studying with AT – Advice on how to integrate assistive technology into your daily routine.
  • Updates on AT at QUB – News about available software, upcoming training, and new accessibility features.

Who is the AT Hub for?

The AT Hub is open to all students, not just those registered with Accessible Learning Services. If you’ve ever wished for a better way to take notes, improve your focus, or manage your workload, the AT Hub has something for you! Whether you have a specific learning difficulty like dyslexia, ADHD, or just want to enhance your productivity, assistive technology can support your academic journey.

Students registered with Accessible Learning Services (ALS) can book a 1-1 assistive technology support session for personalised guidance here.

How Can the AT Hub Help You?

  • Struggling with reading? Text-to-speech tools like Read&Write can read articles aloud, helping with comprehension and focus.
  • Need help with note-taking? Tools like OneNote and NotebookLM can make capturing and organising your notes easier.
  • Finding maths tricky? Equatio can help you write and hear equations, making mathematical tasks more accessible.
  • Want to stay organised? Mind-mapping tools like MindView and to-do list apps like Todoist can help with planning and productivity.
