Student Editors

Dear Readers, Editorial Team, and Contributors,
I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the academic staff across the School of Social Sciences, Education and Social Work who so generously gave their time and expertise to support the review process. Your thoughtful feedback and encouragement have been instrumental in guiding students through the refinement of their work and preparing them for publication.
This edition is particularly meaningful for me as it will be my last as Editor-in-Chief. I’ve been immensely grateful for the opportunity to lead the journal over the past couple of years and to witness first-hand the creativity, critical thinking, and scholarly enthusiasm of our undergraduate students.
I’d also like to give special thanks to Saffron Baker, who has served as Assistant Editor for the past two years. Her dedication, editorial skill, and collaborative spirit have been invaluable. I’m delighted to announce that Saffron will be taking over as Editor-in-Chief from October, as she begins her PhD in Criminology within SSESW. I have every confidence that she will lead the journal into an exciting new chapter.

Throughout the duration in which I have worked on the SSESW Undergraduate journal, I have had the opportunity to meet new people, read a plethora of interesting papers, and gained essential academic skills. It has been an honour and a pleasure to work alongside Kelly as assistant editor, as she has worked tirelessly to facilitate this learning opportunity for myself and many others. Notably, a sincere thanks to all of the academic staff who have given their time to make this possible – a true credit and strength to our School.
The SSESW Undergraduate journal presents as an excellent opportunity for students to showcase their work, gain new skills, and further contribute to our school of Social Science, Education and Social Work. I hope that, in taking over as Editor-in-Chief, I will have the pleasure to meet just as many wonderful people, and to continue the excellent standard that Kelly has set. Indeed, I thoroughly look forward to this next chapter, and warmly encourage other students to get involved if you are interested – it is possible!
