Submission Guidelines

Submission Guidelines for the School of Social Sciences, Education, and Social Work Student Journal:

1. Eligibility: 

  • Open to current undergraduate students enrolled in the School of Social Sciences, Education, and Social Work at Queen’s University, Belfast.

2. Submission Period:

  • Opening date: September 1, 2024.
  • Closing date: February 28, 2025.

3. Academic Requirements:

  • Submissions must have received a grade of 70% or above.

4. Submission Format:

  • Microsoft Word documents only.
  • PDFs will not be accepted.

5. Word Count:

  • Recommended maximum: 4500 words (excluding references).
  • We accept longer submissions (e.g., research projects), but each edition will only publish one.

6. Review Process:

  • All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review.
  • Original essay with markers feedback need to sent with application.
  • Authors must apply feedback from the original marker as well as feedback received during the review process to continue.
  • Submission and feedback application do not guarantee publication.

7. Selection:

  • If there are many submissions, we will select a maximum of 8 entries for publication.
  • Selection is made by a panel.
