Director of Postgraduate Taught Studies

I am delighted to introduce the very first edition of the Postgraduate Taught Journal - a new space to celebrate and share the brilliant work being produced by our taught postgraduate students here in SSESW.

This journal is a fantastic opportunity to showcase the depth, diversity and originality of scholarly activity being carried out across our programmes. The response to the first call for submissions was hugely encouraging, and the quality of the work speaks for itself. The pieces included here are thoughtful, thought-provoking, and a real testament to the talent and commitment of our students.

A huge thank you goes to the editorial team, who have worked hard to bring this project to life. Their energy, care, and attention to detail have ensured that this first issue sets a high standard and, more importantly, creates an inclusive and supportive space for our students’ work to shine.

I look forward to this journal becoming a regular feature of postgraduate life in the school, one that encourages students to take pride in their work, engage in academic dialogue, and build confidence in sharing their ideas more widely.

Congratulations to everyone who contributed to this first edition, whether as an author, reviewer, or editor. I look forward to seeing the journal grow and flourish in the years ahead.
