OPUS 2009 ARCHITECTURE & CONSTRUCTION STUDENT AWARDS

Three recent Bachelor of Architecture graduates from the School of Planning, Architecture and Civil Engineering have won OPUS Awards.

Commended

J.P. Feeney

This Healing Centre beside Sligo Abbey has good internal to external space relationships and modulations of scale.

Highly Commended

Lana Wilson

Lana’s project for a European Solidarity Centre in Gdansk, Poland is an appropriate “shipyard” building dynamically located on the historic waterfront with an integrated landscape design.

Award

Laura Martin

Laura’s Bookhouse Library for Nicosia, Cyprus is a fitting award winner. Good analysis linked to an understanding of urban place and library space gives us a design that fits the grain of the city and the rediscovery of what makes a good library.
