Ugandan students came to Stranmillis college from 1963. All were women and came under a scheme of their government to promote women in society. From 1967 men were also included – in 1969 there were thirteen women and seven men.
This picture must be 1963, 1964 or 1965.

Would anyone happen to have any information on a student around 1965 called Janet Wivugira from Uganda? I don’t think she is in the photograph but was in Dublin and Belfast around this time and was sent by the Ugandan government to study.
