INFORMATION FOR DELEGATES TRAVELLING FROM EUROPE

Belfast has two airports: Belfast International Airport (Aldergrove), 15 miles outside the city, and George Best Belfast City Airport, located on the eastern side of the city.

Direct flights to Belfast International Airport are available from Paris, Nice and Bordeaux (with EASYJET). Direct flights to George Best Belfast City Airport are available from Brussels (with BRUSSELS AIRLINES).

There  are also direct flights from many regional airports in France and other European countries into Dublin Airport, 100 miles to the south of Belfast. The main airlines offering these are RYANAIR and AER LINGUS. Delegates flying into Dublin can then travel up to Belfast on the regular Goldline X1/X2 bus service into Belfast city centre (services roughly every hour, takes 2 hours. Fares from £8 single and £16 return [online] or £14.80 single/£21.60 return [ticket office]).

INFORMATION FOR DELEGATES TRAVELLING FROM NORTH AMERICA

Delegates travelling from North America have several options:

  • Fly to Dublin Airport, 100 miles to the south of Belfast, and travel up to Belfast on the regular Goldline X1/X2 bus service into Belfast city centre (services roughly every hour, takes 2 hours. Fares from £8 single and £16 return [online] or £14.80 single/£21.60 return [ticket office]).
  • There are some direct flights into Belfast airports from North American cities including Newark-New York and Toronto.
  • Or delegates may choose to travel via internal connecting flight from mainland airports in England (e.g. London Heathrow).
AIRPORT TRANSFERS

Both Belfast’s airports are served by regular airport bus services: Belfast International by the Airport 300 bus service, leaving every 20 minutes at peak times and 30 minutes at other times from the Europa Bus Station. Cost: £7.50 single, £10.50 return. Belfast City Airport is served by the Airport 600 bus service, leaving every 30 minutes from the Europa Bus Station. Cost: £2.50 single, £3.80 return.

Taxi firms operating a 24 hour service include Value Cabs (02890 809080) and Fonacab (02890 333333). Approximate cost for airport transfers is £12-15 from George Best Belfast City Airport and £30 from Belfast International Airport.
