Their data suggests that <b>although there are more women graduating from University in general, there are fewer applying for graduate schemes<\/b> than their male counterparts.\u00a0 Hmm very strange. Why is this you may ask? Well, \u201cAnecdotal evidence from speaking with graduate employers and universities suggests male graduates are perhaps <b>more willing to take chances<\/b> while women may <b>lack confidence<\/b>.\u201d <i>(Guardian)<\/i><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.qub.ac.uk\/theedit\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2016\/11\/Gender-Bias.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-79\" alt=\"Gender Bias\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.qub.ac.uk\/theedit\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2016\/11\/Gender-Bias-300x201.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"201\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.qub.ac.uk\/theedit\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2016\/11\/Gender-Bias-300x201.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.qub.ac.uk\/theedit\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2016\/11\/Gender-Bias.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Independent research carried out by <i>The Edit<\/i> seems to concur with 10 out of 15 female AHSS students suggesting that <b>they would be unsure<\/b> about applying for graduate schemes, due to fears that they may be \u2018undertrained and underqualified\u2019. However these schemes are designed specifically to <b>enhance our skills and qualities <\/b>obtained during our studies so ladies, do not fret! In fact most companies are <b>actively searching<\/b> for female graduates in particular.<\/p>\n<p>Companies such as Deloitte who\u00a0frequently attend careers fairs at Queen\u2019s, desire to have an all-inclusive and varied workforce:\u00a0 \u201cDeloitte is a perennial on\u00a0<i>Fortune\u2019s<\/i>\u00a0list of the \u2018100 Best Companies to Work For\u2019,\u00a0<i>DiversityInc\u2019s<\/i>\u00a0\u2018Top 50\u2019 and the \u2018Best Companies for Multicultural Women\u2019.\u201d (<i>Deloitte Website<\/i>)<\/p>\n<p>Deloitte in particular has a keen focus on <b>creating female leaders<\/b> with their innovative initiative called \u2018Global Retention of Women\u2019 (GROW) \u2018aimed at increasing the share of females in top management and equal opportunities in access to professional growth, promotion and remuneration.\u2019(<i>Deloitte Website<\/i>).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.qub.ac.uk\/theedit\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2016\/11\/opportunities.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-80\" alt=\"opportunities\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.qub.ac.uk\/theedit\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2016\/11\/opportunities.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The variety of avenues available are astounding including sectors such as : Audit &amp; Finance, Business &amp; Financial Advisory, Cyber, Governance, Risk &amp; Regulation, Human Capital, Real Estate, Strategy &amp; Operations, Tax Consulting and Technology.<\/p>\n<p>So really you have no excuse not to, the opportunities are there for the taking gals, <b>be brave and grab them<\/b>!
