InnovateHer brings together ambitious female students from across Queen\u2019s University to learn, create, and grow through real\u2011world business experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The programme began with two workshops designed to help participants connect, share ideas, and start exploring the mindset needed to innovate with confidence. It was the perfect opportunity for everyone to get to know each other before the main event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Transformative Residential Experience<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The heart of InnovateHer was the two\u2011day residential at the Rabbit Hotel Retreat and Spa, where students could step away from their usual routines and immerse themselves in creativity, collaboration, and hands-on learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the weekend, participants engaged in interactive sessions led by inspiring female business leaders and guest speakers. They explored everything from leadership and teamwork to pitching ideas, and creative problem solving. Teams worked on real-world challenges set out by our programme sponsors, Baker McKenzie and Women in Business NI. Over the 2 days the teams developed solutions while growing their confidence and skills along the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the standout parts of the weekend was the opportunity to learn directly from accomplished figures in business and enterprise. Panel discussions and networking opportunities gave students valuable insights into what it takes to succeed as a leader and a creative thinker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI loved the passion that each of the guest speakers had. I felt like I gained really valuable insights and experiences from the female entrepreneurs and my group members. Getting to interact with like-minded females was so much fun and I feel very inspired.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Celebration & Next Steps<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The programme concluded at the Baker McKenzie offices, where each team pitched the solutions they had been developing during the residential. The room was buzzing with energy and anticipation as participants shared their ideas with a panel of mentors and industry experts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the pitches, winners were announced which included: Most Realistic Idea to Integrate into the Company, Most Innovative, Best Pitch, Best Understanding of the Brief and Best incorporation of Diversity and Inclusion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All participants were then presented with a certificate of completion in recognition of their hard work and achievements over the course of the programme. In addition, Women in Business offered a one-year membership to help continue their journey, providing access to mentorship, networking, and resources for future entrepreneurial ventures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was an inspiring finale, celebrating ingenuity, collaboration, and ambition. Participants left not only with new skills and insights but also with the confidence and motivation to take their ideas further.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe programme allowed me to connect with young women I would have never met before, develop my skills and build confidence in my abilities that I don’t normally acknowledge. It’s been a great experience and such a lovely change of pace from the usual uni experience\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

InnovateHer continues to be a flagship empowerment enterprise programme at Queen\u2019s Students\u2019 Union, building confidence, encouraging ambition, and equipping women with the tools they need to succeed in business and beyond. Applications for the next cohort will open later this year, promising another inspiring journey for future participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
