If you’re still going to be a student next year, and you’re too busy to run for a Full-Time Officer role, we have a range of of part-time, voluntary roles you can put yourself forward for!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These roles are a great way to upskill, gain leadership experience and stand out to future employers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Undergraduate Faculty Representative<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

What are Undergraduate Faculty Representatives and what do they do?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

They are students that represent the interests and needs of all the other students in their Faculty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They are the lead representative for undergraduate students in your Faculty, they work with School Representatives, Course Representatives and other reps in the Students\u2019 Union to improve the overall educational experience of students in your faculty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You will participate in Faculty-level committees in the University your School and attend other meetings in your Faculty throughout the year. You will also be a member of the Students\u2019 Union Council and the University\u2019s Academic Board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What impact do they have?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

They influence decisions and lead change in the Students\u2019 Union and the University, make sure that the interests of students are considered when decisions are made, as well as participate in campaigns and activities that make student life better. This is a really rewarding role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who should apply?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Anyone who wants to make changes to improve student education across their course, are confident and ready to take on a challenge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Which faculties are recruiting?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The faculties you can run for are AHSS, EPS or MHLS, you must be an undergraduate member of the faculty you are running for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What support do they receive?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

We have a friendly, supportive team of staff who will advise you on the election process and will support you in your role if you are elected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When do they start?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

These voluntary, part-time, unpaid positions run from 1 July, 2025 – 30 June, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What benefits do they receive?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Faculty Representatives can receive Future-Ready Award<\/a> and gain skills to help you impress future employers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Student Association Chairperson<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

What are Student Associations?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Student Associations are replacing our existing Part-Time Student Officer roles. They will provide more opportunities for more students to get involved in campaigning on issues that matter to them and build communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who takes part in Student Associations and how do they differ from Societies?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Student Associations are the formal campaigning and community networks for underrepresented groups within the Students\u2019 Union.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They are student-led groups organised by student-led committees, that have access to Students\u2019 Union funds and are governed by the Rules of the Students\u2019 Union.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
