You will also be a member of the Students\u2019 Union Council and the University\u2019s Academic Board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What impact do they have?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>They influence decisions and lead change in the Students\u2019 Union and the University, make sure that the interests of students are considered when decisions are made, as well as participate in campaigns and activities that make student life better. They will provide more opportunities for more students to get involved in campaigning on issues that matter to them and build communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Who takes part in Student Associations and how do they differ from Societies?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Student Associations are the formal campaigning and community networks for underrepresented groups within the Students\u2019 Union.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They are student-led groups organised by student-led committees, that have access to Students\u2019 Union funds and are governed by the Rules of the Students\u2019 Union.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What types of Student Associations are there?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Student Associations are as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Ethnically Diverse Students\u2019 Association<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Disabled Students\u2019 Association<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Environmental Action Students\u2019 Association<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>International Students\u2019 Association<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Irish Language Students\u2019 Association<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>LGBT+ Students\u2019 Association<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mature and Part-Time Students\u2019 Association<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Trans Students\u2019 Association<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Student Parents\u2019 and Carers\u2019 Students\u2019 Association<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Women Students\u2019 Association<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Who should join Student Associations?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>QSU is looking for students to get involved in building and leading these new student groups.
