Living<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>We distributed over 4,800 free breakfasts to students where we learned that the main pressure points you were experiencing were the costs of: transport; accommodation; fuel; and food.&nbsp;We\u2019re working on how we can support you in these areas in the New Year<\/li><li>We successfully lobbied the University and recieved: <ul><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.qub.ac.uk\/sites\/my-queens\/cost-of-living\/payment-FAQs\/\">Cost-of-Living Payment<\/a>&nbsp;for students, which will be distributed at the end of January<\/li><li>increase the amount of funding into&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.qub.ac.uk\/Study\/Feesandfinance\/student-financial-support\/\">student financial support funds<\/a>&nbsp;of \u00a3600k<\/li><li>reduce disciplinary fines<\/li><li>remove graduation and library fees for the year<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>We have been representing your interests at the Queen&#8217;s Cost-of-Living Group<\/li><li>We are directly feeding into and championing the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nus-usi.org\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.nus-usi.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">\u2018Cost of Survival\u2019 Campaign<\/a> with NUS-USI. <\/li><li>We have met with several politicians, including: the Minister for the Economy; the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland; and the US Ambassador to the UK, and have continuously raised concerns around Cost of Living, as well as how the lack of a functioning Executive is impacting students<\/li><li>We also attended the Cost-of-Living Coalition demonstration to demand action on the crisis amidst the political deadlock at Stormont<\/li><li>We have created a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.q-su.org\/costofliving\/\">Cost-of-Living Web Section<\/a>&nbsp;on our website, which has a host of useful information at this time<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-cover\"><span aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-cover__background has-background-dim\"><\/span><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"2560\" height=\"1707\" Wellbeing<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Our new dedicated space for the SU <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/q-su.org\/Events\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/q-su.org\/Events\/\" target=\"_blank\">Sexual Health Clinics<\/a> opened in September, with the clinics running 2 days a week in partnership with the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust<\/li><li>We have delivered nine Look After Your Mate peer support training sessions<\/li><li>Several recent events were held to support student wellbeing including Hopewalk to raise awareness of suicide prevention and the Volunteering and Wellbeing fair<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-cover is-light\"><span aria-hidden=\"true\" and Give)<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>RAG will be supporting Homeplus NI and Pure Mental for 22\/23<\/li><li>The RAG Chair and voluntary committee have been recruited and successfully delivered the first Freshers\u2019 pub crawl since 2019<\/li><li>This semester, RAG has raised \u00a35,000 for it\u2019s chosen charities<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div Advice<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>We advised over 800 students on a total of 1,700 issues<\/li><li>We helped students unlock over 40k of funding based on the advice we provided<\/li><li>We have teamed up with financial education specialists, Blackbullion, to provide students free of charge access to their money skills online learning platform filled with videos, graphics, and quizzes covering areas such as:<ul><li>21-Day Money Bootcamp<\/li><li>Starting University<\/li><li>Savings<\/li><li>Budgeting<\/li><li>Debt<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>So far, 440 students have registered to Blackbullion.
