Here\u2019s what you need to know:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Accessing the Library<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>All library buildings have <strong>automatic doors, ramps, and lifts.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The<strong> McClay Library has an alternative lift <\/strong>if the main ones aren\u2019t working\u2014ask at the service desk.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Height-adjustable desks<\/strong> are available on every floor in McClay, Medical, and Biomedical Libraries.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Using the Library<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If you can\u2019t visit in person, <strong>a Library Assistant can retrieve books<\/strong> for you (arranged through Disability Services).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If a book is only available in print, <strong>you may be eligible for an electronic version<\/strong>\u2014contact the Accessible Learning team.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Step stools and handrails<\/strong> are available for reaching books safely.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Borrowing Books<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You get an <strong>extension on some short-loan books<\/strong> (e.g. 1-night DVDs for 2 nights, 2-night books for 3 nights).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Standard books auto-renew up to 3 times<\/strong>. After that, bring them in for a re-issue.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If returning books on time is difficult due to your disability, <strong>contact the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.qub.ac.uk\/Study\/student-life\/Support-and-wellbeing\/disability\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.qub.ac.uk\/Study\/student-life\/Support-and-wellbeing\/disability\/\">Accessible Learning team<\/a><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Study Spaces &amp; Support<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Need a library induction?<\/strong> Your Disability Officer can arrange one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Subject Librarians can help you find resources\u2014<strong>find their details <a href=\"https:\/\/www.qub.ac.uk\/directorates\/InformationServices\/TheLibrary\/contacts\/SubjectLibrarians\/\">online<\/a><\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Regular study sessions with a Support Provider?<\/strong> A <strong>weekly room booking<\/strong> can be arranged.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Individual study rooms<\/strong> can be booked for one-off sessions\u2014contact <strong><a href=\"robert.whan@qub.ac.uk\">Dr Robert Whan<\/a><\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Quiet study zones<\/strong> are available\u2014email <strong><a href=\"library@qub.ac.uk\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"library@qub.ac.uk\">library@qub.ac.uk<\/a><\/strong> if noise levels are too high.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check how busy the McClay Library is before going using the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/go.qub.ac.uk\/occupancy\">Occupancy App<\/a><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Assistive Technology Available<\/strong> at QUB<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>At Queen\u2019s, we offer a range of licensed assistive technology tools to support your learning. Scholarcy, Mindview and Genio can be requested through the Assistive Technology Coordinator following a short training session and are allocated on a short-term basis. You can book a session&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/outlook.office.com\/book\/ALSAssistiveTechDropIn@bookings.qub.ac.uk\/?ismsaljsauthenabled\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Read&amp;Write and Equatio are available on campus computers and can also be accessed remotely via the QUB Student Desktop (QSD).
