Here at QUB Library we are delighted to join groups worldwide in celebrating International’s Women’s Day on Monday 8th March 2021 by hosting a virtual guest lecture <\/strong>and a research showcase<\/strong> on the theme of ‘Women in Leadership’ in order to highlight the vibrancy, vitality and variety of the research resonant with this theme currently being undertaken in Queen’s University Belfast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our celebration of IWD will launch with our virtual guest lecture at 16.00 on Monday 8th March, followed by accompanying blog launch on Tuesday 9th March and from 15th March onwards we will be showcasing the work of researchers and academic leaders in Queen’s. If you would like to feature your project in our research showcase it is not too late to do so: simply complete and submit this form<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We begin our celebration of IWD 2021 with a guest lecture from Cathryn McWilliams.<\/strong> A Queen’s graduate twice over, Cathryn is currently a humanities researcher at \u00c5bo Akademi University, Finland and has held lecturing positions at the University of Oslo and the University of South-Eastern Norway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She has worked extensively on Belfast-born humanitarian campaigner Mary Ann McCracken (1770-1866) and we are delighted to host her virtual lecture and accompanying blog post “Mary Ann McCracken and QUB Special Collections”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
