1. Create strong links with industry by encouraging members to get involved with their respective engineering institution in order to: 
    • Create networking opportunities for students and employers 
    • Encourage U.K. engineering firms to take on international students in placement, sponsorship and graduate, full time employment. 
  2. Create a social environment where international engineering students can meet up, de-stress from classes and form friendships and a community in order to: 
    • To create a strong IESO community consisting of current students and graduates that can mentor and guide the junior students  
    • Limit the isolation felt by international engineering students within their courses  
  3. Encourage women into pursuing engineering degrees and careers 
  4. Encourage academic and support for students through: 
    • Being a strong point of contact for students’ voice feedback or concerns  
    • Organising help classes during exams 
    • provide structured advice and counselling to undergraduate and post-graduate students about application process such as CVs, application forms, assessment centre and interview
