Aisling Reid is a final year PhD student in the School of English and is supervised by
Dr Stephen Kelly. Her thesis is focused on devotional literature and synaesthetic reading practices in late medieval Italy.  Her research interests include Italian confraternities, comforting rituals prior to execution and the sensorium. She has presented papers at the 2013 Sensing the Sacred conference in York, Borderlines (QUB and Trinity College Dublin), the Belfast Bright Club, the Common Ground postgraduate conference and the School of English Medieval Cultures series.
