Being an international student at Queen’s never means that one has to bury their heads into books and articles for their academic study. Instead, proactively partaking in a range of academic and social events can benefit them hugely. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this post, Yufei Yang (\u6768\u96e8\u83f2), a MA candidate in Children’s Rights, tells us how she felt about being an international conference assistant during her study at Queen’s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In September, as an international student assistant, I had the privilege of participating in the “CHILDREN’S RIGHTS PARTICIPATION & EDUCATION SYMPOSIUM,” marking one of the highlights of my inspiring cross-cultural (\u8de8\u6587\u5316 ku\u00e0w\u00e9nhu\u00e0) \u00a0journey since I came to study at Queen\u2019s. This conference brought together distinguished scholars and experts from Poland (\u6ce2\u5170 B\u014dl\u00e1n) , Ireland (\u7231\u5c14\u5170 \u00c0i’\u011brl\u00e1n) , China (\u4e2d\u56fd Zh\u014dnggu\u00f3) and many other nations, engaging deeply in discussions about children’s rights (\u513f\u7ae5\u6743\u5229 \u00e9rt\u00f3ng qu\u00e1nl\u00ec) and education (\u6559\u80b2 ji\u00e0oy\u00f9).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While assisting at the conference, this international event enabled me to connect with participants from around the world, representing diverse cultures and backgrounds. It was an enriching experience that highlighted the richness and excitement of cross-cultural communication (\u8de8\u6587\u5316\u4ea4\u9645 ku\u00e0w\u00e9nhu\u00e0 ji\u0101oj\u00ec). Interacting with representatives from Poland, Ireland, and other countries provided insights into unique perspectives and practices regarding children’s rights and education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through group discussions (\u5c0f\u7ec4\u8ba8\u8bba xi\u01ceoz\u01d4 t\u01ceol\u00f9n) and workshops (\u5de5\u4f5c\u574a g\u014dngzu\u00f2f\u01ceng), I shared best practices from my home country alongside international participants, delving into the challenges within the realm of children’s rights and education. Scholars (\u5b66\u8005 xu\u00e9zh\u011b) from various nations passionately presented their research progress and reports, not only enriching academia with new insights and innovations but also inspiring other professionals.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

This collaborative effort fostered a better understanding of each other’s cultures and backgrounds, emphasizing the significance of respect (\u5c0a\u91cd z\u016bnzh\u00f2ng) and understanding (\u7406\u89e3 l\u012bji\u011b). Beyond academic exchange (\u5b66\u672f\u4ea4\u6d41 xu\u00e9sh\u00f9 ji\u0101oli\u00fa), the symposium showcased the power of international cooperation (\u56fd\u9645\u5408\u4f5c gu\u00f3j\u00ec h\u00e9zu\u00f2). Our collective focus on the future of children’s rights and education reinforced the understanding that these goals can be better achieved through global collaboration (\u5168\u7403\u534f\u4f5c qu\u00e1nqi\u00fa xi\u00e9zu\u00f2).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Overall, this symposium on children’s rights and education served as a vibrant cross-cultural adventure, underlining the value of international academic exchange. It opened doors to broader explorations for the future, igniting a passion for the continued pursuit of knowledge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
