This online Photos of China exhibition welcomes photos taken by both Chinese and non-Chinese travellers while they were in China, sharing their angles of observing China – faces and places. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this album, there are three photographers, Yang Ni<\/em>, John Leonard and Isabella Souza McLaughlin, who shared their wonderful photos of China.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yang<\/strong> Ni <\/strong>(\u502a\u65f8) is a photographer from China, currently based between London and Beijing, and a PhD student in History at Queen\u2019s University Belfast. His research explores Chinese contemporary photography through the lens of social change and visual culture. Working primarily in street photography, Ni Yang is drawn to fleeting gestures, uncertain distances, and the rhythms of urban life. The work has been exhibited in Beijing, London, New York, and Munich, and published in China Photo Press, Photo World, and Leica Fotografie International. In 2025, Ni Yang was selected for the National Youth Photography Exhibition.

John Leonard<\/strong> is a clerical officer in the School of Psychology at Queen’s University Belfast.He is also a BA and MA graduate in History from the School of History, Anthropology, Philosophy and Politics. John has been fortunate to go on two holidays to China, in 2024 and 2025. What follows is a short reflection on his experiences in China alongside some photos of places that he had the opportunity to visit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Isabella Souza Mclaughlin<\/strong>, whose Chinese name is \u82cf\u8513\u4f0a (S\u016b M\u00e0ny\u012b), is a bilingual English and Portuguese speaker with a keen interest in language-learning. Graduated with BSc in International Business with Mandarin Chinese, Isabella is currently Global Marketing and Recruitment Co-ordinator in Global Student Recruitment at Queen\u2019s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
