The experience may be used to contribute towards the Degree Plus Award (Category B).<\/p>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"color: #800000\">Role of the Library Ambassador<\/span><\/strong><b><i><br \/>\n<\/i><\/b><\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>To help and encourage students to use the Library \u00a0by showing them the self service facilities, explaining how to print and, showing them how and where to find books etc. etc.<\/li>\n<li><b>\u00a0<\/b>To provide guided tours of the Library.<\/li>\n<li><b>\u00a0<\/b>To assist with \u201cWelcome Week\u201d events in the Library.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"color: #800000\">Requirements<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li><b>\u00a0<\/b>A Queen\u2019s student who will be re-enrolling in September 2016.<\/li>\n<li>Friendly, approachable, outgoing and reliable<\/li>\n<li><b>\u00a0<\/b>Interested in library work and keen to help other students.<\/li>\n<li>Available to attend a couple of training sessions.\u00a0(Provisionally week beginning <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">12 September<\/span> 2016<\/li>\n<li>Available to work:-<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>2 hours per day (between 11am and 4pm) on 3 days during week beginning <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">19 September<\/span><\/li>\n<li>2 hours per day (between 11am and 4pm) on 3 days during week beginning <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">26 September<\/span><\/li>\n<li>2 hours per day (between 11am and 4pm) on 3 days during week beginning <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">03 October<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b><span style=\"color: #800000\">Applications<\/span><i><br \/>\n<\/i><\/b><\/h3>\n<p>Send an A4 page as an email attachment to the <span style=\"color: #800000\"><span style=\"color: #800000\"><b><a href=\"mailto:library@qub.ac.uk\">library@qub.ac.uk<\/a>\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/span>with \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u201c<b><i>Library Ambassador Volunteer<\/i><\/b>\u201d in the subject heading.<\/p>\n<p>Include the following information:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><b>\u00a0<\/b>Your name, student number and Queen\u2019s email address.<\/li>\n<li>What you are studying and at what level.<\/li>\n<li>An outline of any relevant experience or aptitude.<\/li>\n<li>The reasons why you want to work as a volunteer in the Library.<\/li>\n<li><b>\u00a0<\/b>A summary of what you could contribute if selected.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The closing date for applications is<b> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Friday 13<sup>th<\/sup> May 2016<\/span>.<\/b><\/p>\n<h3><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><b><strong><span style=\"color: #800000\">Selection<\/span> \u00a0<\/strong><i> \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/i><\/b><\/h3>\n<p>On the basis of this application, a small number of students will be invited for an informal chat.
