The Tower Building<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Main Library Tower Building and its Student Computer Centre (SCC) will close for the final time at 5.30pm (SCC and Photocopying Room at 5.00pm) on Friday 12 <\/sup>June <\/strong>2009.\u00a0 <\/span>The books, journals and other material will be then transferred to the new library at College Park.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The Old Building<\/span><\/span><\/strong> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The Issue Desk and the first floor study area will be open as usual throughout June.\u00a0 <\/span>It will close for the final time on Monday 6th<\/sup> July<\/strong> 2009 at 5.30pm (Issue Desk at 5.00pm).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Req<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong>uest Service for material located in the Main Library <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

From Saturday 13 June<\/strong> until the new building is fully operational, a request service will operate to enable you to access this stock.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/span>How to use the Request Service <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Until<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/strong> Saturday 4 July<\/span><\/em><\/strong> \u2013 a Request Service will be available in the Main Library <\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Books<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

1.<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Identify the item you need using the <\/span><\/span>Library catalogue (QCat)<\/span><\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

2.<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Fill in a request form, which will be available from the Main Library Issue Desk or, will be accessible on the <\/span><\/span>Library website<\/span><\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

3.<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Hand the completed form to Issue Desk staff in the Main Library or email it to <\/span><\/span>storerequest@qub.ac.uk<\/span><\/span><\/a>. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

4.<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Collect the item from the Main Library. It will be available for you to consult or borrow after 12 noon on the next working day. <\/span>The item should be collected within 2 further working days.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Journals<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Journal articles, copyright permitting, will be photocopied and sent to you in the internal mail or left at the Main Library for you to collect.\u00a0 <\/span>If the item you requested cannot be retrieved within 2 working days, you will be offered an <\/span><\/span>inter-library loan<\/span><\/span><\/a> request.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/strong>From<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/strong> Monday 6 July<\/span><\/em><\/strong> – when the Main Library is closed<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

From 5.00pm on Friday 19 <\/sup>June<\/strong>, the Special Collections Office and Reading Room will close.\u00a0 <\/span>Anyone wishing to consult Special Collections material after this date, should contact the staff in Special Collections direct at\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span>specialcollections@qub.ac.uk<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/span>QCAT \u2013 The Library Catalogue<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The Library Catalogue will be unavailable from Friday 10 <\/sup>July at 5.00 pm until Wednesday 15 <\/sup>July.<\/strong>\u00a0 Electronic resources will be unaffected and these can be accessed from the Electronic Journals A-Z<\/em> and QSearch<\/em> links on the Library home page and the Online Resources<\/em> section of the Library website.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
