Before creating a new journal entry for your Pure record check to see if the title already exists:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In the Pure record Click <i>add journal<\/i><\/li>\n<li>Make sure the search tab is selected<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.qub.ac.uk\/library\/files\/2015\/11\/Journal-6.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3605\" alt=\"Journal 6\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.qub.ac.uk\/library\/files\/2015\/11\/Journal-6.png\" width=\"775\" height=\"312\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>If multiple entries exist choose the most complete one:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>this is often, but not always, the first in the list,<\/li>\n<li>make sure it has no abbreviated words<\/li>\n<li>each word starts with a capital letter, except <i>and, or, of etc.<\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.qub.ac.uk\/library\/files\/2015\/11\/Journal-4.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3603\" alt=\"Journal 4\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.qub.ac.uk\/library\/files\/2015\/11\/Journal-4.png\" width=\"843\" height=\"537\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.qub.ac.uk\/library\/files\/2015\/11\/Journal-5.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3604\" alt=\"Journal 5\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.qub.ac.uk\/library\/files\/2015\/11\/Journal-5.png\" width=\"854\" height=\"504\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>If the Journal is not in the list then create a new entry.<\/p>\n<p>To create a new entry:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In the Pure record Click add Journal<\/li>\n<li>Make sure the <i>create new <\/i>tab is selected<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.qub.ac.uk\/library\/files\/2015\/11\/Journal-2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3601\" alt=\"Journal 2\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.qub.ac.uk\/library\/files\/2015\/11\/Journal-2.png\" width=\"904\" height=\"637\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ulrichsweb.serialssolutions.com\/\">Ulrichsweb<\/a> is an easy to search source of detailed information on more than 300,000 journals. You can search this database to help you fill in the relevant details.<\/p>\n<p>Complete the Journal title as it appears on the website or in Ulrichsweb:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Don\u2019t use abbreviations<\/li>\n<li>each word starts with a capital letter, except <i>and, or, of etc.<\/i><\/li>\n<li>Don\u2019t include any article details into the title<\/li>\n<li>Include the ISSNs using the following format &#8211; xxxx-xxxx<\/li>\n<li>Click on create<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you have any queries or need further assistance in creating or editing journal entries please contact the <a href=\"mailto:openaccess@qub.ac.uk\">Open Access Team<\/a> who is always here to help.
