{"id":3133,"date":"2015-06-01T10:39:24","date_gmt":"2015-06-01T09:39:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.qub.ac.uk\/library\/?p=3133"},"modified":"2015-06-01T10:39:24","modified_gmt":"2015-06-01T09:39:24","slug":"wellcome-trust-charity-open-access-funding-coaf","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.qub.ac.uk\/library\/2015\/06\/01\/wellcome-trust-charity-open-access-funding-coaf\/","title":{"rendered":"Wellcome Trust &amp; Charity Open Access Funding (COAF)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The COAF Open Access Policy requires that all peer-reviewed journal articles resulting from Arthritis Research UK, British Heart Foundation, Cancer Research UK, Bloodwise, Parkinson\u2019s UK or Wellcome Trust funding must be made open access by either the Green or Gold route.<\/p>\n<p>However these funders prefer the Gold Route which makes the published version of the article open access from the journal of publication. This usually requires that an article processing charge (APC) be paid and the University has been awarded a block grant to cover these charges.<\/p>\n<p>The Library administers this block grant and funding is on a first come, first served basis.
