There were 326 responses (114 research staff and 212 students) from all schools. \u00a0As a result we have made a number of service improvements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A mobile version of QCat Discover is now available<\/li>\n<li>An alphabetical list of ejournals will be launched during the summer<b><\/b><\/li>\n<li>Two potential alternatives to QCat Discover will be trialled this autumn<b><\/b><\/li>\n<li>A large number of new journal subscriptions have been purchased and will be available in January 2014. These include package deals for:\n<ul>\n<li>Duke University Press<\/li>\n<li>JSTOR \u2013 6 extra collections<\/li>\n<li>Oxford University Press<\/li>\n<li>Springer<\/li>\n<li>Taylor &amp; Francis<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>The following new, full-text electronic resources are now available:\n<ul>\n<li>Financial Times Historical Archive 1888-2009<\/li>\n<li>IEEE-Wiley eBooks<\/li>\n<li>A selection of Oxford University Press Medical Handbooks and Textbooks<\/li>\n<li>Nineteenth Century Collections Online &#8211; British Politics and Society<\/li>\n<li>RCS eBook collection (1968-2012)<\/li>\n<li>Wiley Blackwell Psychology Collection<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>We aim to introduce training courses covering bibliometrics, conducting literature searches for systematic reviews, and open access<\/li>\n<li>The range of YouTube videos will be extended to cover topics such as accessing electronic resources off campus and searching for journal articles using QCat Discover<\/li>\n<li>A QCat Discover search box is now available on the LibGuides homepage<\/li>\n<li>There are plans to increase the number of LibGuides targeted at researchers<\/li>\n<li>We aim to assess EndNote and Mendeley and are assessing RefWorks Flow (the new version of the RefWorks service)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In March 2013 we conducted a researchers\u2019 survey covering areas such as electronic resources, reference management, open access (OA), and communication and training.
