FileOpen: Improved InterLibrary Loan Service

The Library supplies documents that are not held in stock via the InterLibrary Loan Service. Secure Electronic Documents (SEDs) are scanned copies of printed articles and are downloaded via links delivered directly to your Queen’s email address.

The delivery format for these documents is changing to FileOpen to simplify downloads and to eliminate problems associated with the previous format.

FileOpen is a plugin which works with Adobe Reader and will be needed to download articles from email links received on or after 9th November.  The plugin can be downloaded from: http://plugin.fileopen.com. To test the plugin you will need to download a test document from: http://fileopen.bl.uk.

Links received before 9th November will open in the previous format, Adobe Digital Editions, and the software will continue to be available in the Student Computing Centres until these documents have expired.

For further details, or if you experience any problems, please contact the Library.
