Your Last Chance to Visit the Science Library

The Science Library will close for the final time at 5.30 pm (Issue Desk and Student Computer Centre at 5.00 pm) on Wednesday 10 June 2009. The books, journals and other material will then be transferred to the new Library at College Park. From Thursday 11 June until the new building is fully operational, a request service will operate to enable you to access this stock.

Using the Request Service

  1. Identify the item you need using the Library catalogue (QCat).
  2. Fill in a request form, which will be available from the Issue Desk in any branch of the University Library or will be accessible on the Library website.
  3. Hand the completed form to Issue Desk staff in any branch of the University Library or email it to storerequest@qub.ac.uk.
  4. Collect the item from the Seamus Heaney Library – it will be available for you to consult or borrow from 12 noon on the next working day and should be collected within 2 further working days.

Journal articles, copyright permitting, will be photocopied and sent to you in the internal mail or left at the Seamus Heaney Library for you to collect. If the item you requested cannot be retrieved within 2 working days, you will be offered an inter-library loan.

Further Information

If you have any questions about the request service, please contact the New Library Migration Helpdesk: newlibrary@qub.ac.uk or tel. 028 90975020.
