{"id":751,"date":"2011-12-08T12:41:22","date_gmt":"2011-12-08T12:41:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.qub.ac.uk\/honni\/?p=751"},"modified":"2011-12-08T12:41:22","modified_gmt":"2011-12-08T12:41:22","slug":"requesting-becomes-popular","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.qub.ac.uk\/healthcarelibrary\/2011\/12\/08\/requesting-becomes-popular\/","title":{"rendered":"Requesting becomes popular"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Readers in Antrim Healthcare Library have discovered the benefits of using the <strong>Place Request<\/strong> option currently located under <em>My Account<\/em> in the Library Catalogue.<\/p>\n<p>There was a significant increase in the number of book and journal article requests received by the library online during October 2011.\u00a0 These requests are processed by library staff and usually, journal article requests in particular, can be forwarded to readers either in print or via email within a short period of time.<\/p>\n<p>One reader explained:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201c\u2026.it really takes the pressure off \u2026\u2026 knowing that I don\u2019t have to make a trip to the library to order material is really helpful as I live so far away from Antrim.\u00a0 It\u2019s also convenient to be able to order online, in my own time and from home through honni, as like all busy practitioners, I simply don\u2019t get the time at work \u2026..\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>This facility is ideally suited to help meet the information needs of employees in the Northern Trust as the Trust is geographically the largest health and social care trust in Northern Ireland \u2013 operating from approximately 150 locations. With the <strong>Place Request<\/strong> option it doesn\u2019t matter where you work or live, you can access it easily through honni.<\/p>\n<p>A guide to Online Requesting via honni is available at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.honni.qub.ac.uk\/BookDocumentSupply\/MakingaRequest\/OnlineRequesting\/\">www.honni.qub.ac.uk\/BookDocumentSupply\/MakingaRequest\/OnlineRequesting\/<\/a>.
