{"id":5342,"date":"2019-10-02T09:44:11","date_gmt":"2019-10-02T08:44:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.qub.ac.uk\/healthcarelibrary\/?p=5342"},"modified":"2020-10-22T12:07:45","modified_gmt":"2020-10-22T11:07:45","slug":"the-mcclay-library-phase-3-expansion-project-october-2019-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.qub.ac.uk\/healthcarelibrary\/2019\/10\/02\/the-mcclay-library-phase-3-expansion-project-october-2019-update\/","title":{"rendered":"The McClay Library Phase 3 Expansion Project \u2013 October 2019 Update"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>This is the latest in a series of regular updates to keep you informed on\nprogress of the McClay Library Phase 3 expansion project. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This project will realise a significant number of additional PCs and\nstudy seats in the library and involves the following key elements: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The\ncourtyard area on the ground floor provides over 100 PCs and 9 additional group\nstudy rooms (now open) <\/li><li>The student\nlounge on the ground floor has been doubled in size (now open)<\/li><li>A new\nsilent study room with 67 seats will be created at the bottom of the atrium\n(opening December 2019)<\/li><li>Additional\nstudy seats and PCs are being added to floors 1 and 3 (the additional seats are\nnow in place and the additional PCs will be available from October 2019) &nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The project is nearing completion with outstanding work in the following\nareas: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Special\nCollections<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Work on the extension to the Special Collections store\nis ongoing with access via staircase 1 and the Special Collections Reading\nRoom.
