{"id":1731,"date":"2013-12-04T13:39:08","date_gmt":"2013-12-04T13:39:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.qub.ac.uk\/honni\/?p=1731"},"modified":"2013-12-04T13:39:08","modified_gmt":"2013-12-04T13:39:08","slug":"improvements-to-full-text-reporting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.qub.ac.uk\/healthcarelibrary\/2013\/12\/04\/improvements-to-full-text-reporting\/","title":{"rendered":"Improvements to full-text linking"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In order to determine if an article is available in full text and, if so, link to the article, library systems need to use something called a link resolver. \u00a0Some link resolvers are better than others at performing this work and we have been aware that the one honni was using had serious limitations. \u00a0It will be familiar to you as the following image:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/blogs.qub.ac.uk\/honni\/files\/2012\/07\/honniConnect1.gif\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"honniConnect\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/blogs.qub.ac.uk\/honni\/files\/2012\/07\/honniConnect1.gif?resize=91%2C21\" width=\"91\" height=\"21\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now a new link resolver has been implemented which should greatly improve information about full text availability and access to the full text of articles. \u00a0The new resolver can be seen in databases such as Cinahl, Pubmed, and Proquest Medical Library, as well as in the Articles section of honni Encore. \u00a0It is still called honniConnect but it uses a different image and will appear as follows:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/blogs.qub.ac.uk\/healthcarelibrary\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2013\/12\/honniConnect2.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"honniConnect2\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/blogs.qub.ac.uk\/healthcarelibrary\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2013\/12\/honniConnect2.jpg?resize=100%2C20&#038;ssl=1\" width=\"100\" height=\"20\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>For all journals which require a subscription you obviously have to log in before you can access the full text of articles, and that will always be true. \u00a0However, from &#8216;honni Encore&#8217;
