PhD Candidate with School of History, Anthropology, Philosophy and Politics at Queens University Belfast<\/em><\/h6>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-background\" style=\"background-color:#ebf0f3\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>YOU<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You are another me and I see you well<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I wince at your inaction, your inertia, your intangible legacy of non-plussed, nonchalance<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your mysteriously, vibrantly, deafeningly silent, non- participation in anarchic anti-apocalyptic, protests for life preservation<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Share your secrets, share your wisdom, bestow me with your disconnection, resurrection and inane, rumblings and fumblings of non-love<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I raucously rage and cognitively riot at your carelessness, your carefreeness, your blissful, wistful ignorance<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You breathe, I breathe<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You bleed, I bleed<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You die, I die<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I see YOU clearly and not at all<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Business as usual or despair all around<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are each other and we are dangerously alive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ME<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I am mad, many know it, few disbelieve it and I wholeheartedly embrace it<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This madness is my haven, because the sea of sentiments are swishing, swirling and unleashing a wildness that only a mother can contain<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My mother &#8211; the earth<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She holds me<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She scolds me<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She guides ME home<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWho?\u201d she challenges \u201cCould be sane at a time like this?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let the witches cackle<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let the unruly women rise like the swelling, pulsating, ravenous, furious seas<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let the emotions explode forth and allow the oppressed, battered, bruised and beaten feminine to rip through my mind, my body and my soul<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We need it now more than ever- we need mad warrior women<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We need maternal wrath<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I am me, I am you, I am us<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And this is wrong!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>US<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDisturb the comfortable\u201d the priest declared in our earth heating meeting<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The goosebumps made their presence known, to show me the way<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We must disrupt, disobey, alarm and disarm<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We must impede, confront, alter, revolutionise and transcend<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The earth is not in danger, we are<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The earth will persevere, we won\u2019t<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The earth has been whispering and now she wails- like a banshee she is wailing<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eventually she will weep.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She warned us, she kept telling us, she tried to save us, but we didn\u2019t listen<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We kept raping, pillaging, murdering, hoarding and rewarding ourselves for harming our mother<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is no US when we keep doing this<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Who killed us in the end?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They did<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Louise Taylor &#8211;
