There are two airports serving Belfast: George Best Belfast City Airport and Belfast International Airport. Alternatively, Dublin Airport serves a wide variety of routes.


George Best Belfast City Airport

George Best Belfast City Airport is situated about 2 miles from Belfast city centre.


The Airport Express 600 shuttle bus departs from outside the terminal building every 20 minutes and terminates at the Europa Buscentre in Belfast city centre.


Taxis operate from the airport taxi rank directly outside the terminal building. The approximate cost to Belfast city centre is £8.00.


Belfast International Airport

Belfast International Airport is situated about 20 miles from Belfast city centre.


The Airport Express 300 shuttle bus operates a 24 hour service between the airport and Belfast city centre. Buses depart every 15 minutes for the majority of the day on weekdays, with reduced frequencies at off peak times and weekends. The bus leaves from the bus stop located opposite the terminal exit. The journey takes between 30-40 minutes. A standard single fare is £7.00. A standard return fare is £10.00.


A taxi from Belfast International Airport to Belfast city centre will cost approximately £20 – £25.


Dublin Airport

Dublin Airport is situated approximately 100 miles south of Belfast.


The Bus Éireann/Ulsterbus Goldline Express Service X1/X2 departs every 1-2 hours from the coach park in front of Terminal 1. The journey takes between 2-2.5 hours. A standard single fare is £12.15 (14 Euro). A standard return fare, valid for one month, is £17.40 (20 Euro).



A number of ferry operators offer services across the Irish Sea to and from Belfast Port in Belfast city centre, or Larne Harbour, which is 20 miles north of Belfast. Belfast Port can be reached by bus, taxi or on foot. There are rail and bus connections to Larne.
