Law and literature are intertwined. Linguistic creativity plays a central role in the field of law, as legal texts often incorporate literary techniques like storytelling and metaphors. At the same time, literature’s exploration of legal and justice-related issues mirrors or challenges established legal standards regarding acceptable behaviour, identity, and human accountability. The GS Bookclub brings together a collection of fiction, non-fiction and poetry books that each tell a story about law, justice or equality. These books range from true crime, comics, memoirs, histories of colonialism toromance. The Bookclub provides a fantastic opportunity for students to develop their critical, reflective, creative and analytical skills by understanding how the law is encountered in everyday life and how authors navigate, incorporate and critique legal themes.
