Slumber<\/i> and <i>Where are the visions<\/i>, both from Number 5.\u00a0 Our previous blog was about <i>Slumber, Oh! Slumber<\/i>, and today\u2019s blog is about <i>Where are the visions<\/i>.\u00a0 <i>Where are the visions<\/i> is set in the key of F major and in 3\/8 time.\u00a0 Following a 16 bar piano introduction the singer begins in bar 17.\u00a0 Each of the four verses is divided by a piano interlude.\u00a0 The piano accompaniments for all songs in Number 5 were composed by Henry R. Bishop.\u00a0 Many of the National Airs include an option for more than one voice and are listed in the index in Power\u2019s early editions as \u2018Harmonised Airs\u2019.\u00a0 As can be seen in the photograph <i>Where are the visions<\/i> may be performed by one singer or as a duet; the duet is set in thirds.\u00a0 The words of the song are transcribed below:<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">\u201cWhere are the visions that round me once hover\u2019d,<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">Forms that had grace in their shadows alone,<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">Looks, fresh as light from a star just discover\u2019d,<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">And voices that music might take for her own?&#8221;<\/p>\n<div>\n<p align=\"center\">Time, while I spoke, with his wings resting o\u2019er me,<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">Heard me say \u201cwhere are those visions, oh, where?\u201d<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">And, pointing his wand to the sunset before me,<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">Said, with a voice like the hollow wind, \u201cThere!\u201d<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">Fondly I look\u2019d, when the wizard had spoken,<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">On to the dimshining [sic] ruins of Day,<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">And there, in that light, like a talisman broken,<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">Saw the bright fragments of Hope melt away.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">\u201cOh!
